I'm too cheap to spend money on Navigraph, but I do periodically update my data with info from Aero.Sors.Fr/Navaids. Looking forward to a fun bunch of flights! Gotta get those seat cushions installed so Ernie will quit complaining, and I hope we'll be going to fun destinations where we'll be able to show Nancy a good time.

SK: It looks like the SDM NDB is not present in the P3D world. The middle marker of the 16R runway at Sydney might do the trick, however. What about that 57.58 fudge factor?
Thank you ATB

SKMcConnell: Thank you for your reply. I looked all over for the SDM NDB. Checked SkyVector, Little Nav Map, and Plan G. Fired up P3Dv4 and checked the built in map. No joy. Figured I'd just create a user waypoint based on your mention of 302 degrees and 27.3 nm to the RIC NDB. OK, looking carefully at your chart, it looks like the SDM NDB corresponds with the middle marker for the ILS approach for Rwy 16R in Little Nav Map. I'll fly that route, both ways, and take the average. Does that 57.78 fudge factor apply for FSX, P3D, and other flight sims?
Thank you ATB

Allan: Sorry to be a pest so early in the game, but I'm having a hard time finding the SDM NDB. Any clue would help.
Thank you ATB

Here's something to think about when flying over some of the more remote parts of Norway:
They have trolls out in the boonies. Might want to stay a healthy distance above the landscape. Just sayin'.

The flightplans are now linked from the web page, along with daily fight start files for FS9 and FSX. As I have recently learned that FSX flight files are not compatible with P3D V4 we hope to shortly also provide daily start files for P3D V4 as well. You learn something new every day or two. Cheers, Allan Allan: Either you've already tweaked your flight plans for P3Dv4, or I dunno what, but I just got the FSX file to load in my P3Dv4. It started with that ridiculous F-22, so I'll have to fly my missions with that. Izzat OK? Just kidding. I'll be in a newly polished DC-3 Airways silver/red C-47. Ernie's ass is still tired, and Nancy says she had a really great time last night, but we're all looking forward to the flight series!

I always use my C-47 in these events. That way I can log the flight hours with DC-3 Airways. These rallies (all the Bluegrass series, the DC-3 World Rally series, and Mutley's MEBAR series) provide the majority of my DC-3 flight hours since I have discovered the A2A Comanche, P-51, and now the Bonanza.
Thank you very much for putting this rally together! I'll be carrying several cases of Famous Grouse scotch for our debrief sessions!

Flight 10. Here we are at about 4,500 ft. cruise altitude. Love that C-47:
The last flight was sort of celebration. We had the Grateful Dead cranking on the sound system, and the passengers were groovin'. I decided to do a full-on fighter break over the field.
Got her down in one piece. The passengers scrambled for safety.
It was fun. Ernie and Nancy say they're all ready to go again. I feel the same way.

Flight 3 went smoothly. Took off from Narrandera at 1357. Took a while to get the flight crew and the passengers rounded up and ready to go. Nancy said the she had "a lot of fun" last night, if that is any indication of the reason why. We flew at 4,500 feet, with a nice tailwind, averaging about 160 knots most of the way. Here we are making our turn at Cootamundra:
Here we are landing on Rwy 16 (grass) at Mudgee:
After we got the aircraft secured we got a ride over to the nearby Baker Williams Distillery to replenish our supply of gin (www.bakerwilliams.com.au/), then checked in at the Lawson Park Hotel. They have a nice restaurant and bar, and the rooms are good. They even have free Wi-Fi!

I'll be flying my MJ C-47 in DC-3 Airways livery, but wouldn't it be cool if somebody decided to fly a Capelis XC-12 in this auspicious event? All metal construction, but held together with sheet metal screws. More details: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capelis_XC-12.

@ dnunes: Welcome to P3D! I have accumulated many hours in the MAAM DC-3, flying for DC-3 Airways. Great airplane, for it's time. Now I fly in P3Dv4.1, and I fly the Manfred Jahn C-47. Here are some useful links from Sim Outhouse: C-47 v3.14 download; FSX/FSX-SE/P3D Douglas C-47R Skytrain V3.14 Beta.zip discussion forum; C-47 V3.14 Beta fixes discussion and link to file.
I had this freeware C-47 in FSX and was very happy right up until November 2016, when my computer died a terrible death. I got a new Jetline computer. The Jetline guy recommended that I buy it pre-loaded with P3Dv3, which I did. I re-downloaded my MY C-47, which I believe was the V3.12 Beta. Installation into P3Dv3 was easy. Later I upgraded to the C-47 V3.14 Beta, which had really cool instrument lighting, plus a few other features. My only hassle was after I upgraded to P3Dv4. I had to download a special file to get sounds back. It's all on the P3Dv4 forum at Sim Outhouse: P3Dv4 discussion right after v4 came out (scroll down to post #39); sound fix for MJ C-47 in P3Dv4. Don't sweat those last two links if you don't plan on getting P3Dv4.
OK, back to stuff about the MJ C-47: MJ C-47 Livery Thread. Got a favorite airline, or a favorite military C-47? Chances are it's there.
I wouldn't have bothered to track down all those links and post them here if I didn't really like the MJ C-47. If Ernest K. Gann flew a flight simulator, and he wanted to fly a DC-3, I am sure he'd be flying the Manfred Jahn C-47 V3.14. Check out my screenshots in the GAAR 2017 and BCAR 2017 forums.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to Allan Lowson and others at Bluegrass Airlines for putting together BCAR 2017. Also, thank you to the rest of the participants. I really enjoyed the flights.
Happy Landings!

Flight 10! The weather looked pretty good as we prepared for a late afternoon takeoff. "Late" because of the high latitude, which meant we'd be flying part way in the dark. We got the airplane fired up and took off from Fort Simpson at 1625.
The country looked pretty desolate. Glad our engines "sure sound happy," according to Ernie the copilot:
We cruised at 4,500 feet the whole way. The sun was setting behind us:
We were treated to a spectacular moon rise just before turning toward the localizer for RWY 33 at CYZF:
Here we are on the glideslope:
We taxied past the Buffalo Airways hangars and shut down near the terminal. After securing the airplane we were picked up by a shuttle from the Quality Inn. We had dinner at Elke's Table, followed by a couple beers at The Black Knight Pub.
Now for the flight home!
