I really need to work on my patience. My wife says that I do. It didn't help that Ernie kept on my case about when were we gonna start flying that TACR2020 anyway? I was waiting for some work to be done on my DC-3 Airways airplane, but it was still in the shop. Nancy said she knew of another airplane that we could use for the flight. Said it was "government surplus." Right. So, we went and checked it out. It was an old Air America bird, in pretty good shape. Ernie said, "Let's Go!" I replied, "Why Not?" And off we went. Leg 01.
Here we are flying through New York airspace:
Here's a nice shot of Bravo 829 thundering through the air at 5,500 MSL:
OK, time to get back on the ground:
Here we are, safe on the ground. The Mail has been delivered. Nobody died.
The mail has been unloaded and is on it's way. More is coming tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, Ernie and I are going into town to keep an eye on Nancy. That woman really knows how to party.

When the Transcontinental Airmail Centenary Rally was announced, I went looking for a "mail plane" to fly. I didn't have to look very far, or hard. Lo these many years ago, I was a US Navy Naval Aircrewman. One of the many airplanes I had the pleasure of boring holes in the sky in was the Grumman C-1A Trader, more commonly know as the COD. The COD was used to deliver mail, parts and people to aircraft carriers while at sea. I couldn't turn down the opportunity to fly a COD...
Grumman Bethpage, birthplace of this wonderful example of aviation technology. Pretty quiet place now. Sad
Folded up and put to bed at KUNV.

Nice COD, Don. I saw a few of those in my day. Allen Allen, It was a wonderful airplane, in it's own quirky way... I'm guessing you were Navy...
This is the airplane I wanted to fly, but the re-paint wasn't quite done. Oh well, maybe in the future.
I have over 200 hours in this particular airplane.

Good numbers, 56 inHG, 2800 RPM, 1500 psi on the hydraulics, all temps and pressures good, off brakes, and lets go!
Cleaned up and climbing.
On glide path, on glide slope, on speed, just a minute or so and we're on deck in Cleveland.
Fold her up and put her to bed. Tomorrow comes early.

Hi Douglas, First host the picture on a web site. There are a few free ones out there. A simple one is postimages.org/In the create post menu tab there is a button with a picture symbol seventh from the right. That allows you to set up a direct link to the image: I have resized this picture down to 600 wide. The image capture and sizeing programme that I use is IrfanView. The arty crop was due to having specs on the sensor to the right of the fuselage. I could edit them out but the end effect is not too bad!

Say mates what would be the reason for removing my pictures that I shared from my first leg? do I have to register to post them?
Regards Drake

Drake,
No need to register to post images. The forum has a physical limit to the number of images that can be embedded in posts and we have probably long since passed that limit. So the only way to show images is to host them as suggested in the above post and then add links to the images.
We have certainly not removed any images. Spammers get zapped once spotted but any rally related input to the forum is welcome. If you get the images hosted then you can go back and edit the original posts to show the images. I don't know if guest posts can be edited but give it a go.
Cheers, Allan

I seemed to have made the error. I found the images posted in the “Official TACR 2020 Forum” and not the “TACR 2020 Screenshots”.
