GAAR 2017, Leg1, Hervey Bay to Archerfield
Very well then, GAAR 2017!! Here I am at Hervey Bay Airfield – 6am - too early for me!
Carefully prepared for the first leg down to Archerfield!

Starting the gadget is an art itself! But the infernal machine is running..!

Going up to 4000ft QNH and turning right on course MYB NDB 248 KHz (-- -.-- -…) is checked !
What a nice morning to fly! But also a nice headwind….
Well, must be the little city of Gympie: The city is located on the Mary River, which floods the town periodically. And Gympie is famous for its gold fields.
Next Checkpoint: YGYM-Airfield - is located approximately 12 km south of the town centre. The airfield serves as a small regional airfield. But what the heck is that lightning in front of me ?

You’ll find spangled perch, snub-nosed garfish, golden perch, silver perch, eastern freshwater cod, saratoga, red claw crayfish and Australian bass. You’ll also find tilapia – which is delicious. I’ll have to tell our cook about that!!

.. another small irregularity is waking up my eyes: a bloody high cylinder head temperature! That’s an odd thing!
I think that small irregularity is not so small!!
Checking all necessary items and found out: Cowl-flaps still closed!! Shame on me!
