While you are probably doing your test flights, Thom and I travel comfortably on the legendary luxury train "The Ghan" from Adelaide to Darwin and enjoy! Especially the drinks .. all inclusive! Cheers and see you soon!

News from the front! Fearless pilots! As you can see, Thom and I have arrived in Darwin! Of course we want to marvel at our two planes that we saved from the shredder! Somewhere in a hangar here they are reassembled. We think it will work, even if it gets expensive.. we simply send the invoices to the GAAR-2020 management! There is already a lot going on at the fairground.. BBQ's, drinks, wine and beer.. that starts well! If this continues? But that's almost common in GAAR adventures! Aviation enthusiasts around the world spend a lot of time and money to maintain the vintage aircraft. Some have made themselves scarce.. .. but you can find them again on a GAAR! We see! In these hangars, our two planes are put together again. This seems to be a rather complex work! Unfortunately, only the crew and mechanics are allowed to go into the hangars. So you may continue to be curious! Cheers

Hello Urs and Thom, You are creating a story again! And, yes, I am curious what is in that hangar. I have been wondering if you can stow one DC3 in three trucks. One for the fuselage, one for the wings and one for all other parts. Two DC3's in three trucks seems impossible to me.
This morning I did my testflight, aiming at a ground speed of 140 kn at 6000 ft. Here I am almost at the end of the run to NDB DY. Duncansby Head is directly below the DC3.
I left my EARC2019 DC3 in Darwin with the intention to fly it to the starting point of the GAAR2020. That proved to be uinnecassary. The start came to Darwin. I changed the livery of my EARC DC3 a little bit. It shows the GAAR 2020 logo now and the flags of the countries we visited. Looking forward to the rally and to the stories, Kind regards, Luuk

Hello Luuk It's cool that you take part too! Yes, those were just my trucks in the convoy. One of Thom's trucks had a crankshaft damage in the middle of the outback .. Imagine, the heat and no beer! Cheers

My first try at a GAAR in X-Plane. Above is an Aztec in X-Plane, above that is an Aztec in FSX, just in case...

After a loooong ride and a late nightโs end we could throw a glimpse on the dismanteled aircraft in a back corner of the hangar......deep sigh..... will this bird ever fly again?

I am tyring to get the X-Plane files set up using Active Sky XP to get the weather. On March 1st, 2019 05:30 UTC I get clear skies, and about 15:00 local time as in this picture If I use 05:30 local time I get a predawn time but the weather is at least in the ball park with cloud layers about the right level and rain shower in the area as in this picture Also got similar results for march 4th and 7th, It appears like I get the right time and wrong weather or wrong time and weather that is reasonably close to what it should be using Active Sky. Alen can you verify which picture has the correct time? I can pull the correct weather to use with correct time.
