Hello Allen,
Before continuing with my answer part 2, I will first react to your replies on my post.
I am glad to read that you have some experience with XML gauges, because that is where I started making changes to FS9. And it is still what I have done most. So I expect that my lat lon gauges copied in this post will be quite easy to understand and to use.
The latitude gauge
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Gauge Name="dig_lat_lb" Version="1.1">
<Element>
<Position X="1" Y="1"/>
<Text X="70" Y="17" Length="10" Font="Arial" Adjust="Left" VerticalAdjust="Center" Color="#00FF00" Bright="yes">
<String>LAT:</String>
</Text>
</Element>
<Element>
<Position X="45" Y="1"/>
<Text X="90" Y="17" Length="14" Font="Arial" Adjust="Right" VerticalAdjust="Center" Color="#00FF00" Bright="yes">
<String>%((A:PLANE LATITUDE, degrees))%!03.6f!</String>
</Text>
</Element>
</Gauge>
The longitude gauge
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Gauge Name="dig_lat_lb" Version="1.1">
<Element>
<Position X="1" Y="1"/>
<Text X="70" Y="17" Length="10" Font="Arial" Adjust="Left" VerticalAdjust="Center" Color="#00FF00" Bright="yes">
<String>LON:</String>
</Text>
</Element>
<Element>
<Position X="45" Y="1"/>
<Text X="90" Y="17" Length="14" Font="Arial" Adjust="Right" VerticalAdjust="Center" Color="#00FF00" Bright="yes">
<String>%((A:PLANE LONGITUDE, degrees))%!03.6f!</String>
</Text>
</Element>
</Gauge>
Gooneybird565 already showed you the way to the location of ModelConverterX. I fully agree with his statement that FSDeveloper is a goldmine. But it takes a lot of digging to find what you need. Especially if you are starting, and I am still looking at myself as a beginner, you read many things you do not fully understand. And very slowly, by combining snippets of information and trying to make things, you find out how things work and how things are designed.
And I fully understand that the rally has the first priority. To be honest, now that you have bought "Instant Scenery" I expect to see some scenery of your own in leg 05!
Good luck with leg 05,
Luuk
