The rally that we are presenting is to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the first England to Australia Air RACE flown during 1919 from Hounslow England to Darwin Australia. The winner of the race was a pilot by the name of Ross Smith flying a Vickers Vimy aircraft. Six aircraft started the race with the Vickers Vimy being the only aircraft to finish within the allotted time period with one other aircraft finishing late.
Many of the landing fields that were used in 1919 today no longer exist this includes the departure point of Hounslow, others along the route have today become International Airports / Military Bases or again do not exist today. Our departure point for the rally will be Farnborough "EGLF" located outside of London. For en-route ports of call that today are non existent we have chosen a present day nearby airport as an alternate.
The rally consists of 23 legs. THE RALLY ********* Will officially commence September 01 2019 until December 31 2019. During this period PIREPS will be accepted for each leg flown. Please submit your PIREP at the completion of each leg that you fly, this will help greatly with keeping the roster updated THE AIRCRAFT ************ You may select any Land-plane of your choice, be it default, freeware or payware suited to your simulator. TIMED TEST FLIGHT and FLIGHT PLANS ********************************** Flight plans and test flight information for the rally shall be release during August 2019. This will allow you to choose your aircraft, the flight plan you wish to follow and the appropriate test flight along with your registration.
There are three rally flight plans "A","B" and "C" for each leg. A fourth option "D" will use one sector of each of the "A" flights to shorten the distance that needs to be flown.
Once you choose the flight plan best suited to yourself and aircraft type you must fly the entire rally using that flight plan category, therefore no changing mid stream unless you submit a new test flight to let us get you back into the system.

Flightplans and desriptions listing navaids and airport info for the MS range of flightsims are now on the site. I have also loaded the correct page for the test flight information. I had loaded an earlier version that only covered the A & D test flight. The details for B and C test flights are now shown.
Initial rosters will follow.

An update of the Rosters is now uploaded and I have managed to get Alan Butler his US passport back. Apologies for the mistype.
Any other errors or incorrect times will be corrected when spotted.
I have included a table summary of the options and their airports.
As the original event winners took off on November 12th 1919 the close-off date for entries is now November 12th 2019. Urs has posted a picture he took at the time in the screenshots!
Only one other aircraft, a D.H.9, managed to complete the event. They arrived in Darwin in August 1920. We won't keep the event open that long.
Sean's update for the X-Plane testflights has also been uploaded. Following feedback from Brett the FSX flightplans will be tweeked where FS9 designations for airfields may cause difficulties and the FSX designators used instead.
Flight descriptions up to Leg 16 will follow today, and then the flightplans will be uploaded.
Cheers, Allan

A link to Mutley's Hangar on the event index page will take you to John Allard's complete set of airport diagrams for the EARC.
Thanks to John for this sterling work, as always John has done a superb job of collecting diagrams for all of the airports visited by the various options.
Cheers, Allan

Rosters A to C are updated.
A fault in the scoring system needs to be corrected, so the first few times will be added once I have fixed the scoring. A bad case of excessive cleverness in what should have been a simple calculation.
An error quoting two email addresses in the testflight page has been corrected. The non-existent EARC email address has been removed.
Some days a step sideways is a bonus!
Cheers, Allan

X-Plane users, the default scenery for Damascus is just two runways and Baghdad is 2D only IE. no buildings (that's the bad news) the good news there is decent freeware scenery for both airports available on the X-Plane.org forums. I will update here as I find more airports lacking scenery.
