leg2 bad weather, new, "old" bird, not having slept enough the last night,...so the circumstances for this rememberance flight are kind of weird,...but we have to go through it,...so just take off and head south.... looking back to Archerfield... rainy conditions and bad sight, but some "new equipement" on the side.... flying through water is always kind of sad and the small forest fires seem to fight a sensless battle for survival as only steam comes up to the air.... always ground sight to have balance in the gray skies thinking a lot of Capt.Rex Boyden in his Stinson and bad conditions....................... kind of mental journey ..... airstrip in sight: Lismore ahead at the end touch down and "The Lismore" ahead.... first unloading some cargo then backtrack to the GAAR area and havin a beer with Urs and all you guys my lonely bird.... see you soon!

leg 1 in the end I really could make this old Lady, fly again, as a phoenix from the ashes; I found her a few months ago in Bavarya near a chicken shack and rescued her from true death,.... I found out that she was a paratrooper bird in Czechia in Brno and was flying with the licence number OK-JIM....so here we go: start up for leg 1 at Hervey Bay: the ramp near the BBQ old radial engines fire some oil into the air,...hmmm I love the smell taxying to the runway a little nervous,..... taking off: a new adventure ahead: waypoint1 would have been nice to have a stop over ,...but not so early in the rallye.......there are more places to come an dance.... what a great feeling,..... although some headwind everything is just smooth and safe the next waypoint with fire work....oh I love these Ozs with theyr enthusiasm and friendship!thats why we are back every year!!! great show! just a little close to my canvas wings.... a real hidden treasure this old lady as Urs would tell....now Gympie in the back,...lets fly.... nav aid on the ground....Maleny VOR beautiful landscape: like tiny pyramids.... following the powerline.... target in sight,...Archerfield Airport....turning to base RW10L on final turn and.... touch down....not spectacular, but safe and within perfect timing..... clapping hands in mind ;-) on taxyway to GAAR parking area parking place ahead.... engine shut down and .... lets join the party and meet Urs and all the others from all the years before!!!!
