Hi Philippe, and thanks for being with us four here. I know you're flying a more recent sim, but as for me I installed freeware VOZ scenery for FS2004 - or the grandfather of OrbX - and I like it very much. Apart from that I'm also using HDE v2 cloud and sun textures from Pablo Diaz. In the past I sometimes improved airports with add-on scenery design software, like Urs, but unfortunately I don't have time for this now.
Regarding the fact that we're only a few pilots to post here, I think it has something to do with the possibility to fly the GAAR much earlier than reporting dates : many pilots have already flown all 10 legs and are off to something else by now. For instance, I remember that there was more activity on the screenshots forum of DC-3 Airways World Rallies, but as the flights are published late we're all flying the Rally more or less at the same time.
I'll be posting pics of flight 4 tomorrow.
Have a good Sunday.

Oh yes, you're right Thom. After I watched your pics once again, I realized that the GAAR tent is on the other side of the "terminal". No problem, let me disconnect Ground Power and join you there for a drink and some more stories about the first 3 flights. See you in a bit.
(The roster says we're 48 pilots, plus friends, staff, friendly locals, and Annemarie, Bärbel and Christine. And probably a few kangaroos too...)

What a busy thread, that's cool ! Here are my pics for this "rememberance flight", from Archerfield to Lismore. Luckily I have a powerful aircraft and can climb above the clouds - it's less dangerous here Mountains, cliffs and deep forest - this is probably the area where the Stinson crashed 80 years ago Approaching Lismore There's a strong crosswind Didn't I tell you ? Not on the centerline, but we made it The bloody guy doesn't want to give way So, what else ? Now, let's look for Thom and Urs. Where are they hiding ? Hey, guys, I brought my own glass. Did you already empty that bottle ?

So now the GAAR really started. Great screenshots guys ! Here are some more of leg one, from Hervey Bay to Archerfield. Lots of luggage to load for the barbecues I flew (too) close to a Jetstar flight for some time Most probably Caboolture River and airfield (YCAB) with Moreton island in the background Lake Wivenhoe North Pine River, just north of Brisbane Downtown Brisbane and Brisbane River Turning Base over Brisbane River Spotting the runway wasn't easy in this dense urban area (but I was a bit too low and also worrying about time) Where's the parking ? That's it. See you later.

Regarding flight 2 (Archerfield to Lismore), pilots using Tom Goodrick's panel timer should carefully write down their time as soon as they come to a complete stop on the runway in Lismore. Failing to do so, strong wind gusts might reset your timer while taxiing to the parking (30 kts wind plus taxi speed will reach the 35 kts limit). It happened to me.

Well, I'm running late... here is leg 8, from Longreach (and its memorable BBQ under the wing) to Emerald. Lining up on Rwy 04 Bye Longreach, it's been nice (Shorty has gone long ago, but I'm afraid Thom is still asleep under the 747...) Turning in final for Rwy 01 at Barcaldine. Sorry again for the weather - it was raining while I landed, but clear weather is due to replaying the landing in FS Recorder Screenshot taken just after landing in the "real" flight - see the rain... During the little less than 2 hours stop over in Barcaldine, I slept in the back of the plane (still a bit silly after the Longreach beers and I like the sound of rain on the fuselage...) OK, we're back in the cockpit and ready to leave to Emerald (I'm thankful to the Cessna pilot who woke me up while taxiing close to my Avro, would have been really late without him). Lining up Rwy 01 Climbing to 15'500 ft Lake Maraboon, near Emerald We're early, so let's have a quick look at Fairbairn Dam OK, let's take another rest, because we'll have to take-off to Rockhampton tonight and join Shorty. I hope Thom will finally wake up. See you there, Raphael

Thank you Rob for this information.
I'm afraid we had far too many beers, beef sausages and shrimps under the wing the other evening, so now everybody keeps quiet. Fortunately, I've safely landed in Emerald since then and hope all friends are also OK, as the only aircrafts I can see around are a Qantas Dash 8 and a Cessna... Screenshots to come later if I find time.
Ciao, Raphael

OK guys, here I come. Flight 7 from Julia Creek to Longreach, where I know you're patiently waiting for the beer delivery. Still raining in Julia Creek Cruising at 13'500 ft Nice weather up there In final at Winton There's a crosswind, as usual But I'm getting more skilled with the HS748 Instruction was : full engine stop at Winton. I won't stay long though - don't want the beers to get warm ! Lining up on Rwy14 We're off to meet you at Longreach More clouds on this leg Downwind at Longreach - I can see the 747 ! Wow, Thom has already arrived and got enough time to repaint his DC-3 ! And capflyer's Metroliner is also there, near the fire brigade, as he told us Best flare and kiss landing so as to preserve my beers (don't like beer foam) Taxiing back to you Can't see a single fly around the 747 - the fire brigade did a good job Hi Thom, how are you ? Anybody to give me a hand to offload the beers ? Here too, the marshaller directed me to a strange parking... Hope the crew in the Dash are strong enough to perform a "manual" pushback when time comes ! Well, that was a looonnng post, sorry for that - but be cool as I'm bringing the drinks ! Cheers, Raphael

The fire brigade said they would spray the area against flies, so we should be OK for a few hours.
Please, do join us, Shorty. I'd very much enjoy a little sightseeing tour in your beautiful Friendship bird.
Rob and all other pilots : everybody is welcome ! Just bring some food (I'm transporting liquid only...) and cool stories.
Safe flight and see you all there, Raphael
