Hi,
I did this in FS2004 long ago - but now I cannot seem to understand how to insert the TIMER gauge into my ALABEO Cessna 310R II aircraft. I'm thinking about using this aircraft for the EARC 2019 trip.
I have the DIGITAL folder nestling inside the FSX/Gauges folder; And I added the line to the end of the panel config after the Virtual Cockpit part. The two parts of the gauge did display but I cannot get them positioned so that I can see them.
I can't really work out how to position them. And I'm reading that gauges cannot be "added" into an existing VC Panel!
Any help please!
cheers,

P.S - can't seem to get my avatar to be the right way up !! :-)

Ok, so the solution which I am posting here for anyone else having the same issues - is to create an additional pop-up window. So, go into the PANEL folder of the aircraft you wish to add the gauge to and open the PANEL.CFG file with Notepad. Here is my panel.cfg for the Cessna 310R and its WINDOWS section:-
[Window Titles]
Window00=GPS 530
Window01=AUTOPILOT
Window02=WINDOW MANAGER
Window03=INFO
Window04=ENGINE SETUP
Window05=KNOB INFO
Window06=Flight Timer
Here I have added a sixth window (shown here in RED) into which the FTimer will show when I pop it up (for me, SHIFT + 7 will pop the window up).
Now having identified and added the Window, I need to define the window's content, i.e., the gauge itself and its position. So, scrolling down the panel.cfg file to the last [Windowxx] section, I see that [Window05] is my last Window showing:-
//--------------------------------------------------------
[Window05]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=600,490
window_size= 0.344, .500
position=5
visible=0
nomenu=1
ident=10050
gauge00=GAUGE_C310R!StartWindows , 0, 0, 600,490
So, the next task is to "separate" the new window from the last one using the double slashes and line:-
//--------------------------------------------------------
Then I add the new window and define it's contents:-
//--------------------------------------------------------
[window06]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=128,128
position=0
visible=0
ident=FLIGHT_TIMER
gauge00=Digital!FTime, 0,10,24,16
So, we have added the previously defined new WINDOW (now window 06 for me - you simply create the new window numbered in sequence) and using the definition variables shown, this should create a pop-up window when you use the SHIFT + n key (n being the number key you use - for me SHIFT + 7 pops the new window and the gauge up for me) which should display the FTimer gauge in the top left corner of the view.
This works fine in FSX-SE which I use and it shows up in the VC.
My thanks to Kevin Hall and Roger Hanson over at BAVirtual for providing the solution.

Lee
