I am glad that Urs shows the perfect scenic flight pictures! I still have to apologize that my photographic equipement and the PC troubles are not yet solved..... and they say I need about two more weeks to have a chance of even run on minimum possibilities..... OMG I really hate it....but Urs is here and I cannot do any better than he,...... so my flights are blind and speechless ( for the moment )....enjoy Urs‘ perfect story! I‘ ll go for a pasta and a bottle of wine.... Hope to mend this stuff meanwhile.....

Ernie, Nancy, and I completed Leg B1 yesterday. We hauled mostly cargo plus a few good friends, from Farnborough (EGLF) down to Saint Exupery (LFLL), hitting all the waypoints on the way down. Here we are leaving England, just going "feet wet:"
Here we are passing over what I believe is Palace of Versailles. My wife and I trudged all over that place back in 2012. I like this view MUCH more!
Hey Ernie! What's happenin'?

Hi all, Here is the report on my flight from EGLF Farnborough to LFLL Lyon. I fly in the current era so in some screenshots you will find contemporary aircrafts. But I fly the old way using the VOR and NDB beacons and correcting drift using the digital E6B I copied a long time ago form the DCA site. I use real weather of Active Sky. My flight took place on September 2nd 2019, take-off around 8:45 UTC, arrival 3 hours later. Just after take-off, making a left turn to VOR MAY. Leaving the UK, at starboard side Beachy Head. Paris. I have a tailwind of about 10 knots, so I have to fly about 10 knots slower than my target speed of 150 kn. Cruise descent, Lyon at starboard. Passing LFLL at 3500 ft. There is a 20 kn wind from the north. I will make a procedure turn at NDB LYS at 3000 ft to fly the approach to rwy 36R. On final. No papi's. Parked somewhere at the edge of the airport. Regards, Luuk Bakkum, DCA 2315.

Thxs Uhug and Jazzthom, I remember your names and your great stories from the GAAR2015. Story telling is not my strongest point, but I like to share my trip with my fellow virtual pilots. In the mean time I have arrived in Pisa as well. Here is my report. The flight was made on september 5th, starting cold and dark at 07:15 UTC. With Active Sky as weather engine. ATC gave rwy 36L. After reaching enough altitude I made a right turn to VOR LTP, la Tour du Pin. LFLL visible throught the rain and clouds after making the right turn. Then I made a steady climb to 12500 ft. Oxygen on board. According to Plan-G the save altitude was 12.000 ft. Looking into the valley where the A43 leads to the Frejus tunnel. The bad weather is behind me. The same valley, but now looking backwards. Leaving the Alps with a last view on Lac de Mont Cennis at the right. After the Alps I descended to 6000 ft. I don't like those oxygen bottles. Genua, city and airport. At 30 NM DME to VOR PIS I started a descent to 1500 ft. With a wind of 8 knots at 120, I got rwy 04R. At 5 NM DME to VOR PIS I made a right turn to 220 degrees and followed the 220 degr course for three minutes (Altitude of 1500 ft divided by a descent rate of 500 ft is 3 minutes). Then a left turn to 130 degrees until VOR PIS is almost at 40 degrees to my left and then a turn to 40 degrees. I used NDB PIS as an extra check on the approach. At course 40 I almost immediately could pick up the glide slope to the runway, there are papi's here :-). On final with papi's. After landing I taxied all the way to the buildings at the nortern part of LIRP. Parked. Regards, Luuk, DCA pilot 2315.

Here's the basic debrief from flight 2B: "Flight 2B EARC 2019. Saint Exupery, France to San Giusto, Italy. I'm pretty sure it's Italy, anyway. We are enjoying this flight - so far. Gotta go. Ernie and I are going to show Nancy a good time tonight."
Here are some photos:
We flew over some mountains:
We flew over some ocean:
They gave us a right base on to 22R:
Done. Parked. The aircraft is secured (trust me, it's really secured - best stay away unless you see us near the aircraft).

some guy wanted me to ferry his elephants to Italy so off we went. I'm at 11,000 feet and this is the highest part of the Alps giving me about 1000 feet clearance.
All my flights seem to be as night as I use real time and weather and with my location it's night over there.

Yesterday I flew to Rome. I was inspired by "ratty" to fly around sunset. I took off from LIRP Pisa at 18:19 Local Time. ATC gave me rwy 22R, so no departure over Pisa. Elba and in the background Corse (Corsica) The light is already changing and you are looking at Monte Argentario and the island Giglio. Again with Corsica in the (hazy) background. Cruise descent to Rome, Fiumicino. ATC Rome gave me runway 25. Here I am on base and on my left is the Vatican. On final, with the sunset at just the right moment. Sheer luck. Kind regards, Luuk

Flight 5B went well. The weather has been cooperating magnificently. We took off at noon from Casale Mil, in the heel of the boot of Italy, and flew down the west coast of Greece to Ioannis Dasklogia. Nice. Now we have to show Nancy a good time without letting her get out of control. Here are a couple shots we got from the outside of the airplane, from the Predator drone we had along for the flight:
Here we are heading out over the Med:
Here we on the downwind for Ioannis Daskalogia:
On the ground. Airplane secured, ready for flight 06. Ernie and I have taken Nancy into town. She gets pretty crazy once she gets loose.
