A tough thing to do , I know FS9 had a decent display but did not show up enough unless you where at 8000Ft and northern Alaska/Canada , I have yet to have them show up in FSX, have no guess on the newest versions if they have northern lights or not.

hi Bud, The weather is set up in one of the three files for each date. If you have copied the daily start files to your Fight Simulator X Files folder in documents then it should all be ready to go. cheers, allan Be carefull what you ask for! I have tried 3 times now to finish one of the legs, had to turn back each time due to weather conditions. One of the most challenging legs of any Rally I have flown. The choice of aircraft will be critical. I'll get it the fourth time but my rally time will be way off!

Hey guys first post on the boards but have unofficially flown the 2016GAAR and NZAR with posts up on Mutley's Hanger.
Looking forward to trying an official rally with you guys. I'll be flying the LDR Grumman Mallard in P3Dv4.

Glad to have you aboard. Our rallies are fun rallies not competitions against others that are flying. The leg times are for your reference only to give you something to aim fore.
Have fun and enjoy.
Cheers Rob

I'm assuming that early PIREPs are not a problem. I like to fly my legs early, just to be safe. Completed Leg 1, no problem-o. Ernie and I are getting our C-47 ready for Leg 2.

Early pireps are no issue, we will be publishing progress once the indicative reporting dates are passed for each leg. However in view of the weather issues we will accept pireps and registrations throughout October.
cheers, Allan

If anyone is using P3D v3 or 4 and are getting a CTD on loading after the latest Microsoft Windows 10 update, there are 11 pages on the P3D Forum regarding this issue.
I do believe that they are trying to sort it, hopefully soon, it is a pain in the A.se

Last official week of the rally.
As I am flying (real plane) to the opposite side of Australia from where I live for a bit of a vacation in a few days time and may have limited internet access, I would just like to thank all that flew this event, the screenies, comments all contribute to a good rally.
Hoping that you all had fun and not to much sweet on the brow and that we will see you again for the GAAR next February.
Cheers for now and take care Rob

Will see how much of the good freeware OZ scenery I can down load before this old computer wheezes to a stop. Looking forward to hearing "WE ARE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE" from my co-pilot/navigator. See every one there.

Thanks to everyone for participating, and of course to Rob for the hard slog in route planning and John Allard for the airport diagrams.
I have been away for business again, but will now have a week at home to catch up with the roster and my own route flying.
Cheers, Allan
