Apologies, I have corrected the description links for both the B and C flights up to 18. I had not spotted that the link for half the description was for the 1-12 flights and the other half for the 1-18. I have also corrected a leg length for Flight 4 in the B descriptions. The total flight length was correct, just one of the legs was incorrect.
Cheers, Allan

Hello!
In previous rallies (such as the GAAR) we would have flight files for the sim, including weather files (*.fxml, *.wx). For the EARC flights I only have .pln files. Is this so or am I missing something? Although I am not yet in the roster, I have flown the first leg (Farnborough to Lyon) with a nice weather...
Regards,
Domingos

Domingos,
We have not defined weather conditions for the flight legs for this rally, so you can set whatever weather you choose along the way. We have supplied flightplans for each leg as there is quite a bit of setting up to be done for each leg.

Flightplans and descriptions are now available for all flights up to Darwin. Philippe is correct, the leg length for Option B Leg 20 is wrong, as are the legs for Option C 21 and 22. These are corrected in the flight summary sheet. The Rosters and target times will be updated next.

...as are the legs for Option C 21 and 22... Hi, I'm glad you spotted that, I thought I was going mad as I did legs 21 & 22 option C. My est times were 81.12 and 74.09 but I only managed 83.49 and 77.02 and that was at full throttle all the time and exceeding 250kt below 10,000ft All the other legs seem OK as I was either just over or just under the est times. I look forward to the corrected times and will try again. Regards, Rog

Apologies Rog,
Route development involved a balancing act between the Vimy route and finding airfields common to various generations of MS flightsim. So errors in leg lengths were able to creep in, or stay in.
I have uploaded rosters with pireps received to date up to leg 3. A further update will follow tomorrow.
Cheers, Allan

It is hard for me to meet my reference times on the legs. I am following flight rules (250 knots below 10,000 ft, 300 knots to 16,000 ft, etc.) but I am having a hard time coming close to my time. Can someone please re-evaluate the reference times set for me or let me know if all flight rules are off (no speed limits)? It just doesn't seem physically possible to get to the destination airports in a B737-800 at the times listed. Thanks.

Hi James,
Rob was keen to allow jets to participate in the rally. However we were not sure how applicable the standard target formula would be with the higher cruise speeds and altitudes. As a compromise we thought to use the average speed over a longer test flight and then set target times pro-rata from that. If the formula is causing problems, feel free to ignore the standard rules. There were none in 1919 after all.
I have noticed on several occasions when climbing out of Heathrow that the airspeed rules are set aside if ATC want to clear you out of the way for other flights behind you.
Cheers, Allan
