Kev, Am I right in presuming your Dove is the Just Flight version, if so are you able to do a cold and dark start procedure and if all works in P3D v4. You may already know this but D H in Australia put out another varient of the Dove, Heron clan called the Drover, she was a tail dragger with three engines, the third being on the nose. The Drover was used by the airlines of the day for outback ops to small communities and by the Royal Flying Doctor Service for those that were far from medical services. Cheers Rob Rob, Yes it's the Just Flight Dove. I can do a cold and dark start up in P3Dv4 and everything works as expected. There are some minor electrical issues (the gear downlock green lights are always on even with the battery off) but nothing major. I'd heard of the Drover but didn't know it was so closely related to the Dove. Kev

What a relaxing layover here in Mungindi! The Barwon River Valley and the little city, which is full of history! Well, time to prepare for the evening flight #5 to Ballina – eastwards this time! Both engines are running, no warnings, no flags and coffeepot on board – ready for taxi! On my way for departure runway 30.. .. and aligned heading sunset! Put the pedal to the metal…! Jazzthom and his orchestration is on his way as well! Shortly after take off on heading 079° and my first checkpoint is 1h30min away! The setting sun – meets.. .. the rising moon! Everything takes its course.. But then.. near the city of Casino - blazing forest fires and huge clouds of smoke!! The city of Casino in night-time illumination! Casino is among Australia's largest beef centres. It is the regional hub of a very large cattle industry and positions itself as the "Beef Capital" of Australia. Ballina was established in the 1840s on the northern shore of the Richmond River near Cape Byron, Australia's most easterly point. But.. I catch sight of another fire site, very close to the airport. On the radio they telling me: "The local fire brigade is doing fire practice near runway 24 using a defunct refinery!" Eh? In my humble opinion, this big bang is a bit to excessive! Despite all that, I can achieve a good landing! But I’m tired of fires for today! Ohhh! Jazz-BBQ at the lakeside!! That makes my heart leap! Finally parked! Some paper-warefare to be made and then.. .. go for it and Cheers!!

Leg 4. Up before sparrow's fart to make the early start. The Dove lit against the night sky by Dawn's early light. Cracking girl, Dawn.

Jazzthom with his travelogue ensure that the GAAR 2018 continuous dramatically towards the final aim!! Well, lets see what happened to me on flight #6 further to Kingaroy. The weather is awful for this hop! Nevertheless the small apron here at Ballina is fully occupied! I can see a Fokker F.XII Trimotor, a Fairey III, Jazzthom’s «Erika» and my humble self! For better or for worse.. I have to cope this! Big rain drops crackles on the planes covering.. and Jazzthom is announcing ready for taxi! After you Sir! Number two in sequence! In climb up to 4500ft AMSL and picking up the heading 344° for Gold Coast VOR/DME Just passing Byron Bay, the easternmost point of mainland Australia. This region was discovered by James Cook in 1770. Today, the area is very popular for tourists. I can imagine if I look at this mile-long and endless sandy beaches! My first waypoint is insight! Gold Coast Airport! The airport exceeded 6 million passengers and is the sixth-busiest airport in Australia. Burleigh Waters, Mermaid Beach, Palm Beach etc. and even Miami can be found here at the Gold Coast! You can see all that from a bird’s eyeview if the weather is nice and clear! But… Near Jacobs Well. A hotspot for the boating and fishing enthusiasts.. You can see all that from a bird’s eyeview if the weather is.. etc. etc. Near Lake- and Dam Wivenhoe. Home of the Queensland lungfish! It is a very interesting fish but not very tasty.. bones and cartilage! Yes, you guess right.. you can see all this from… Strong tailwind is pushing me to be ahead of the target time! I have to lower the gear to reduce ground speed! Turning into a long final for runway 34 – but i’m not alone! The Fokker Trimotor is reporting his position on righthand downwind 34.. Well, a sharp lookout is indicated! The opposite Fokker is insight and I hope that he keep his course! On the PAPI runway 34.. .. and tolerable landing. On the way to the ramp.. Kingaroy airport has an active gliding club.. .. that makes use of some of the WW2 infrastructure for its hangars, club house, bunk house.. .. and last but not least - for entertainment facilities! Enjoy! PS: a member of the jury just told me that a landing runway 34L (Grass) was scheduled...! Oh well!!
